I was super excited/passionate about it but have been going through sooooo much (read the blog just after this for more on that) and I’ve decided to STOP running for a while. This was only one item on a big list of things I want to do and I was losing sight of what matters most. I also didn’t get any submissions as I never really dug in to promote this so that worked out perfectly (not sure what I would have done had I lol – but I’m thankful as it’s a huge project, bigger than I’m able to take on right this moment and that happens sometimes).

Calling all female creatives, artists, visionaries, writers (of all kinds), musicians, healers, soul-workers. We have some work to do.

It's time! For us to come together. To create. To learn. To love. To laugh. To cry. To grow. 

This may be my idea (to bring into the world), but it will be OUR project. A compilation of artwork: stories, essays, poems, meditations, song lyrics, sheet music, recipes, travel itineraries, letters, quotes, photos, drawings, digital creations. The possibilities are as limitless as you are, boo. The only rule is they must INSPIRE!

Inspire growth, courage, strength, action towards dreams, trauma releasing, healing, love (for others and for self).

Submit Your Piece

while this is a collaborative effort for good (not for profit), I'll be giving the following:
  • (1) $1,000 award
  • (2) $500 awards 
  • (5) $100 awards
to the 'best' submissions, based on a fair judging system around the pieces inspiration, clarity, and creativity. This is not to make it a competition but to encourage participation. please know, too, that your work is absolutely as valuable as you say + believe it is. i could never even put a price on that. I'm honored that you are even considering submitting a piece. 
The vision for this project is so clear!! But the particulars will be unfolding as it's a collaborative project we are working on together!
Myself and my business/es will not be taking a profit from any book sales. I may reimburse myself for hard expenses, but the rest will be donated to a charity/ies truly in line with our vision (if you have a great one in mind, shoot me an email at angela@chubbygirltravels.com). there will be transparency around these stats to those involved!
Important/helpful details to note:
  • we are looking for 50-100 submissions to be published.
  • These must be original pieces, not published officially elsewhere.
  • All submissions are under the agreement that they may or may not be used for the book itself, including inside content, cover content or for email/social media/marketing purposes (you may opt to receive credit and link backs whenever your work is used, or to remain anonymous if you prefer).
